and Eric Ellingson for sponsoring this popular
event.

If you have any updates to
your listing in the EE Name and Address Directory,
please send an email with details to Cheri Day (thedays007@aol.com)
before the end of December.
Another Exciting Afternoon
Mark your calendar now for
the last regularly scheduled Board meeting of 2017 on Monday,
December 18th at 1 p.m. at the Ramada. Traditional
holiday refreshments will most likely not make an
appearance. It's OK, that elastic waist band is probably
stretched to its maximum already.
EE HOA Annual Membership Meeting
Put it on your calendar now: January 15, 2018 at 2
p.m. at the Community Performance and Art Center (CPAC), 1250 W.
Continental Road, Green Valley.
More info and an agenda included with your ballot.
Trees for Sale
The HOA will be replacing damaged trees in the common areas in
late January. Varieties will include Purple Leaf Plum, Chinese
Pastiche, Afghan Pine and Texas Mountain Laurel. These, as well
as Bonita Ash and Chinese Ash, are available in 24 gallon
containers with a planted height of about 12 feet. If you are
interested in purchasing one for your land, the cost including
planting, tax, and delivery is $360. Smaller trees in 15 gallon
containers are available for $175. Descriptions of these trees
with pictures and size are available on the Civano
Nursery web site. They are also available for viewing at
Shade Tree and Esperanza parks. Please notify Dean Hess or Jim
Copeland by January 1st if you are interested in buying a tree.
These trees will require watering for two years to
become fully established and should be set to go after that
amount of time. Naturally, trees will grow faster with continued
watering.
Be Warned! Holiday Computer Virus
The newest virus circulating during the holiday
seanson is the UPS/FedEx/USPS Delivery
Failure. You
will receive an e-mail from UPS, Fed Ex, or USPS
along with a package number. It will say that
they were unable to deliver a package sent to
you on such-and-such a date. It then asks you to
print out the invoice copy attached and take it
to the post office. DON'T TRY TO PRINT THIS. IT
LAUNCHES THE VIRUS!
Attention Book Discussion Group
A change of plan for the January meeting on
January 2 at 11:00 a.m. Instead of discussing
Glory Over Everything, the group will discuss
favorite books others may enjoy. At the meeting,
the group will decide whether to have an extra
meeting or shift everything down by one month.
Lighting the Way
Thanks to Tom Cooke and Craig Surprise,
you don't have to worry about tripping or encountering a
creature when you enter the pool enclosure through the rear
gate. The dynamic duo installed a motion-sensitive light which
will come on automatically when you walk by.
Protect Your Pipes
There was already a freeze warning last week, so if you haven't
already done it, now would be a good time to make sure all of your
outdoor pipes are wearing their winter coats. Remember February
2011!
New Pickleball Start Time
As a result of the cooler early-morning temperatures of
late, the new starting time for pickleball is 9 a.m.
